Newborn Photography - 7 Day Old Little Man

Today we had two sessions in the studio.  The first was a sweet little lady in for her first birthday photos (I will blog about her a little later...)  Our second was this adorable little 7 day new little man Lukas.

As many of you may know, I am a CAPPA trained Postpartum Doula.  One of the most common things we see happen in our studio is called "cluster feeding".  This is when new tiny little baby's who are exclusively breastfed require more milk from their mama's.  The way a mothers remarkable body produces enough milk for her baby is through essentially a supply and demand system.  When a growing infant requires more milk supply, they will often go through a phase that for mom can seem like stint of never ending breastfeeding.  This can go on for hours and even a few days until baby has "bumped-up" moms supply to sustain them adequately once more.

As we mentioned earlier it is very common and we are absolutely prepared for our shoot to be modified to suit little one's need to nurse, however it can become very frustrating and perhaps even feel never ending for a new mom who is already likely feeling run down.

Today's little man led us through the perfect example of the need to frequently nurse.  We were able to capture some beautiful images of him and his parents, however we did have to constantly be aware of his hunger cues making sure we caught them early and not allowing him to progress into a state of upset with late cues!

I am so proud of today's mom and dad with their incredible patience and willingness to follow their little man's cues.  The early days of parenthood can be bumpy to begin with and often breastfeeding can be a bit of a test in patience.  But being willing to work through those first few weeks will without a doubt yield many more months of positive relationship bonding as well as knowing that you are providing the best nutrition you can possibly give to your infant!

With happiness and pride, I introduce you to the newest member of Michelle and Mark's family....

Baby Photography - Newborn Session

This little newborn was an adorable tiny little bean to photograph.  Practically perfect in every way!  Blink of an Eye Photography specializes in Baby Photography and Newborns are indeed our specialty.
Natural light sessions yield a softness to portraits that can rarely be duplicated in any other way.  We often encourage parents to come in for a complimentary consultation session prior to their actual photography session.  With this little man we had many different ideas we wanted to incorporate.  Most importantly to dad was his love of the Montreal Canadiens!  Newborn photography can offer many beautiful and different opportunities to showcase and feature the tiny details of your little one.

I hope you enjoy viewing his photographs as much as I enjoyed spending time with him.

Be sure to check out more of our work on our website.

Maternity Session - Simply Beautiful Mommy-To-Be

I have been really fortunate meeting many wonderful people since my family and I moved to Milton, ON almost 7 years ago (this beautiful mamma included).  When I found out she was expecting one more tiny new addition to her family I was beyond thrilled for her.

In only a few short weeks she will be welcoming this beautiful baby!  I cannot wait to meet her/him when he/she arrives!

At 37 weeks along, she's looking absolutely remarkable.  Hope you enjoy a few sneak peeks from her session xo

Family Session - A little Sisterly love....

These two beautiful ladies and I have been trying to co-ordinate schedules for almost 6 months now!  I was thrilled when we were finally able to make it work on a slightly overcast day with a dusting of snow thrown in just for beauty and fun!

I truly forgot just how much I enjoy working with adults.  While my heart still remains with the wee ones,  I really enjoyed this session a lot!

We laughed, smiled and shivered our way through this late fall/winter session.  Capturing their sisterly sentiments was a blast.

I hope you enjoy the sneak peek from their session as much as I do.
